Exciting news: Virgin Islands Broadband Fiber Optic Network
The U.S. Government has awarded the territory $59 million in federal stimulus to help design and build a super-fast fiber optic broadband network in the Virgin Islands. The project calls for connecting community institutions to broadband with a focus on key institutions such as schools, libraries, the university, hospitals, public safety agencies and government buildings and centers. For the home user, that means a service speed of 10 megabits per second -- or in layman's terms, being able to download a book or movie in the blink of an eye. with a PayPal donation!
You can donate using the button above or send a check to "teens4oceans" (attention: Trevor Mendelow), 4000 East Quincy Avenue, Englewood, CO 80113. With your generous donations (no matter how small) we will keep these cameras maintained and install more this year! Thank you!
In addition to lens cleaning and maintenance costs, we are raising funds for new cameras characterizing the eleven United States Large Marine Ecosystems.
Important: Due to continued issues with our satellite uplink, we have had to remove the live feed for now. Below are still images that refresh every eight seconds from the underwater camera and dock camera. We are installing a new camera up at the camp soon, which will allow you to watch the activity in the jungle!
